Nancy graduated as a Fine Art Major from the University of Guelph in 1977. In 2013, she became a full-time visual artist. She works, primarily, in watercolours and acrylics. She is known locally for her wildlife paintings and wildlife photography as well as her portraits, which have been described as "exquisite".
Setting professional goals is an important part of Nancy's practice. This requires finding work that is deliberately difficult. Every painting should be both the problem and the solution to Nancy. The "problem" - not being as good as she wants to be; the "solution" - the work itself. Each painting is, therefore, an investment into future virtuosity and her search for excellence. It is the hard work in the studio and the daily practice that go unseen by all except those closest to the Artist.
