Early Morning Wash Day, by Catherine Bast, 36" x 48"
Catherine received formal art training at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, and has taken workshops in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel and silk painting. She has participated in many juried exhibitions, both in Canada and the US, as a member of the Oil Painters of America.
Presently working in oils and focusing on larger than life floral paintings, Catherine uses the indirect oil painting technique with many layers of transparent glazing. She also enjoys creating still life pieces, impressionistic landscapes, and commissioned portraits of people and pets.
Catherine and her husband Mel presently live in Leamington, ON, where she gets to paint full time in her home studio.
