Mood and feeling are the focus of his work - influenced by the abstract expressionist movement, Pineault's paintings reflect both passion and intensity while drawing on the power of colour. With an almost mosaic-like appearance his works are somewhere reminiscent of those executed by Norval Morrisseau in that they have transparency, similar to cathedral windows.
Seeing one of Pineault's works definitely has an effect on one's inner self, bringing clarity and a sense of calm with patterns, textures, reflectivity and colour.
Although schooled in the regimented sciences, his techniques are much the opposite. The works are gestural in nature, and forms are complimented by the palette, resulting in bold and fearless compositions.
Pineault currently resides in Windsor, ON. His works are held in private collections across Canada and the U.S.
