An introduction to formal oil painting classes at the age of twelve led to studies at the Universities of Calgary and Windsor, graduating from the latter with a BFA. Johnston continued her education in Graphic Design and Illustration, and spent several years teaching both drawing, and watercolour classes.

In the last decade she has directed her focus back to oil painting, occasionally working in acrylic and watercolour. In addition to her own work, she accepts commission requests to illustrate homes, cottages and other subjects.

Contrary to a naturalistic tendency, she manipulates colour and paint layering to build texture, creating an interesting dimension and perspective which may present an alternate point of view.

Delivery purchase under $100 - within Windsor/Tecumseh/LaSalle $10, County - $20

• Open to Windsor/Essex County only
• 3 month rental = 2% of the retail price of the piece per month, for three months ($10/month minimum)
• 6 month rental = 2% of the retail price of the piece per month, for six months ($10/month minimum)
• Contract with credit card information on file is required upon delivery or pickup of artwork.
• Art rental date begins the day contract is signed.
• You will be notified approximately one week before your art rental is due, at which time you have 2 weeks to decide on purchase or return.
• Your rental fee goes toward the purchase of the artwork.
• Multiple rental fees from pieces by the same artist, can be put toward one final purchase at the end of the rental term.
