Margaret Guillet is a representational artist who completed a BFA at the University of Windsor after retiring from a career in teaching. Her work reflects a fascination with ordinary objects and she is inspired by the centuries-old traditions in Western still live and landscape painting. While creating her images, Margaret enjoys utilizing light, color and brushwork to interpret imagery in a fanciful, metaphorical manner. Frequently, she paints small objects on a large scale, using size to enhance prominence and convey importance. Sometimes she creates works in a sequence to chronicle change. Guillet's images are always intended to celebrate and elevate the world around us.
